Ipod Corruption hates my soul. (pt.1)

I plugged my 160 gb Ipod Classic into my laptop last night, eager to update my podcasts and greedily stuff in more heaps of music which will never, ever be listened to, when I was greeted with a surprising sight.

Rather than the usual warm, inviting, and altogether pleasing welcome screen, the message I received was more akin to an ancient himalayan curse. In fact, so horrified was I by this message, that I have blocked out the exact phrasing from my mind, in an attempt to save whatever brain cells weren’t boiled away by the initial fury and frustration I felt upon reading it.

Basically, I was being told that my ipod’s rather vast database had been corrupted, and therefore the only remedy was to reformat the ipod itself, back to its settings from the manufacturer. This meant that all the music I had hoarded over the years would be tossed into the wind, like the salty tears of a sea captain’s wife as she stands by the lighthouse and acknowledges that he will never return from his voyage.

Earlier on, I mentioned that this was a surprising sight, but that is not entirely true. This had happened once before, and it had so scarred me that, in my rabid Apple fanboy fervor, I declared that it would never happen again.

Clearly, this was not the case.

A homeless man (douche) robbed two banks this weekend, making off with a total of about $3800. After leaving the scene of the second robbery on Sunday, he changed out of his clothes several blocks away. However, he left his wallet in the clothing he left behind. His wallet with over 5 forms of identification, including a Social Security card, and his BIRTH CERTIFICATE.

Seriously? People are seriously this dumb?

He wore latex gloves for god’s sake. He clearly did SOME planning, so why leave his wallet. Why take your birth certificate on a damn bank job? He’s homeless, you say. He has to carry that shit with him, because he has nowhere to stay.

Well how about maybe stashing your myriad forms of identification somewhere, before embarking on your quest to be the next D.B. Cooper?

Apparently, it’s too much to ask.

New Muse Album a Mystery

Muse’s next album may infact not be an album at all, according to statements made by Matt Bellamy during an interview with NME.com.

Instead, the band may simply release future content as a series of singles, not connected to eachother except by the obvious nature of being Muse songs.

This news has gotten fans in a bit of an uproar, because apparently Muse fans are averse to change and experimentation.

Then again, seeing as how this is Matt Bellamy, it may all be smoke & mirrors to hide their true schemes. Time will tell, I guess.

New Yellow Bricks

Arctic Monkeys are planning on releasing their third album sometime this year, which will be their third studio album in as many years. Personally, I’m excited to simply get some new songs from them, however the 2008 release has not been marked by any official sources as of yet.

Instead, this word on the new album comes from “a source,” which I am loathe to trust quite fully. Until an actual release date is announced by the band, I won’t hold my breath.

As most posts of this nature are relatively empty in terms of substance, I’ll simply say that if you’re reading any of what I write here, thank you. Whether you’re actively interested, or couldn’t care less (which i think is more likely,) the simple fact that anyone decided to cast even a cursory glance over here is flattering.

That being said, this’ll mainly be a blog related to the things that interest me, i.e. movies, music, comics, and perhaps some games, as well as the random thoughts which bounce around my brain on a regular basis.
